"I've sundered my World to save Abel. That meant giving up the life I once had with Gaius. Letting the people I once protected and saved die, letting my children die...Apparently, that didn't mean it was over for me, too. No.It meant fulfilling my legacy as a Warrior of Light, and not the ones Eorzea and every other reflection is thinking of.No, I'm talking about being an actual inheritor of the Light... and eventually, the Darkness. No more resurrections of Dark & Light's inheritors due to our unsundereds' failures - the cycle ends with me so the future shards never have to suffer without the other, but instead, exist as one and pave their own path the way I chose to do.It's now simply carrying out a legacy. But fuck it all, some bastards are out there trying to lock me up and clone me for their own sick purposes. Well, my soul bound and I are not gonna take it sitting down.Perhaps our past selves saw far into the future, knowing how many lives will be lost in the rejoining, seeing what is considered as another way to fulfill it.We remember everything. We know many things. We have many secrets.I am the Light, but I am also the Shadow. He is my peace, my haven...I am a servant of Death, a Reaper. He, a trusted of Life, a Guardian.I am here to fulfill my duty to guide you and everyone to peace in the afterlife when the time comes, or assist you with your unfinished business so that you can move on.Besides, I and my ancestors... were also born from the kin of Death, and Gaiux is my destined one.Wherever and whenever, my Eternity, my Forever and Always.Who am I?Why, I'm but a Snow Fox with a Black Wolf.So tell me, what brings you here, lost one?"

"I once believed that repenting for my sins of sentencing billions to save one life meant hunting my other shards and ending their lives in order to leave their significant others in pain, which in turn causes me pain, too. Yet, that defied what I was fighting Fate for: that everyone has a choice."Being an Anomaly of this World and merging with the shard of a parallel Star who made the opposite choice I did granted me the ability to cross rifts and traverse different Worlds. The Scythe I carry once belonged to my Unsundered, Yuta. Through Venat, whom you may know to be Hydaelyn, it was safely handed to me.I was Yuta's chosen incarnate after all, the one who had the compassion and stubbornness to fulfill what should have been and would be.The more I rejoin with my other versions, the more this weapon grants me abilities beyond comprehension, resulting to having the means to go against Fate herself apart-- well, apart from my being an anomaly.Or so I thought that was the reason..."I understand everyone's true fate is to die one day, but to go after them is a different matter. That is what I defy you for, Fate, not of what will be but how it will be."I believe that everyone has a choice, even if it may seem unlikely due to circumstances."No matter how hopeless and bleak things may seem, there is always a way. Find it."After all, it is only ever truly the end when you've given up... and when I've come to collect your soul on Death's behest.

Tamamo-Gozen
Shares the bloodline of the powerful Auspice of the East through his mother and grandmother. This is also the most potent among his genetics and seems to be a recurring one in various Reflections. He can shapeshift when needed, and has a 9-tailed version of himself that can be destructive or simply cause mischief, if not simply just him becoming more serious over the matter which requires him to change forms.Keeper of the Moon
Yeux's mother from her dad's side is also from a Tribe of Keepers who have rare genetics that grant some of the males the capability to mate with the same sex - a way to ensure their kin does not go extinct. He later learns there are such Worlds that exist, too, and wonders if they were somehow transported here...Note: Think omega from omergaverse AUsShard & Soul Inheritance
After having gathered some of the souls of his other versions who have passed, the side effects are often thinking or feeling the way they do, too. Thankfully, when he also gets the Gaiux counterparts, it helps stabilizes things. This also explains why he is capable of using different types of weapons and forms of combat, though it does not necessarily mean he has mastery of them the way he does with the scythe.Yuta's Legacy
Despite being a shard of Yuta, he is still a part of who was his whole self in the past. As such, he has Yuta's "eyesight" - he can see souls and read them. Yet even though one's soul indicates how irredeemable they are, his choice to let people live their lives keeps him from acting on them - not unless a confrontation is unavoidable (i.e. "You struck first"). Due to Yuta and his love, Surtr, exchanging hearts in the past, their successors have also seem to feel incomplete until they find each other.Death: A Primordial Being
Yeux later learns that his "sight" was not just Yuta's legacy but also due to his connection with Death and the being's plans. By allowing Death to sometimes use him as a vessel to carry out more difficult soul collections or send offs, Death unlocks his potential to see and feel more.

Gaiux Baelsar Husband, Soulbound
Twitter || Carrd
Once known as Surtr from the time of the Unsundered, and also known as Gaius van Baelsar in most Worlds. In this current one, he was reborn with his memories of his other selves in tact, but rather than being a Garlean, he was a simple Hyur who lost his family many years ago. He had only gotten by with the thought of reuniting with his beloved, uncovering secret societies and learning forbidden knowledge which he used to find Yeux, then later destroy these archives as he found a horrible truth that could endanger his love's life if it fell in the wrong hands. For Yeux, Gaiux isn't just his husband and soulmate, but also his pillar and strength, his mental and emotional support. Without him, Yeux knows he'll lose himself in the process. Despite the seemingly dependence he has on Gaiux's existence, this did not mean he couldn't function without him. Just that he is a better version of himself when Gaiux is with him, and the same can be said for Gaiux when it involves his Raikou. There are several things he's immune with; while one can argue it's his knowledge of many things that he does not disclose, there is an invisible thread connecting him to a being far older that the primordial ones -- Life.

Abel Muscovado Adoptive Younger Sibling
Twitter || Carrd
Formerly the Bearer of Darkness and a shard of Azem (named Hevel), Abel became Yeux's adoptive sibling from Yeux's original World. Due to tapping into Forbidden Magicks, Abel caused the sundering of multiple Worlds before Yeux chose to end his own World to, once and for all, stop Abel from doing the same to the one they landed in - sacrificing the life he fought to protect and keep safe for the sake of saving Abel and many other Worlds.Yeux doesn't quite know when it happened, but Abel had gained mysterious powers that he is wary of but will still look after his younger sibling no matter what. Later, he learns of the truth and some of the horrors she's faced, but unlike before wherein he comes running to her aid, he acknowledged that she will be okay and will also need to grow on her own without his constant hand-holding or hovering.Abel soon finds a way that helps merge Yeux's old World with their current one to further solidify his existence and, in a way, wanting him to have a better and happier life here after he gave up his world to save her.

Angelo Salvatore Son-from-another-Star
Twitter
A Shard of the eldest son of Gaiux and Yeux from another Star."Adopted" into the Free Company named "Mochi" which Gaiux fondly explains is something his wife decided with his adoptive sister and learns how familial they run things. Although most of the members were comfortable with calling Gaiux and Yeux as the den parents or father and mother, and referring to Abel as their Auntie, Angelo had been formal for the most part. When Yeux's status as an anomaly started causing other Shards' lives to rejoin with certain individuals, Angelo had gotten his of a World wherein he was the son of both Gaiux and Yeux of that World. This also made him start to gradually refer to Hydaelyn's Gaiux and Yeux as his parents, fondly calling them Father and Mother, while also being more open to them.

Raiz Lee Son-from-another-Star
Twitter
Named Wrio in another World and also the youngest son of that World's Gaiux and Yeux, he is also notably the only son of theirs in another World where he is nicknamed "the Duke".Raiz never knew his birth father and had grown up in the slums of Ul'dah alongside his biological mother. At a very young age, he was unable to protect and save her from those in power, leaving him feeling frustrated and helpless upon learning her death before eventually being found by one of the Paladins serving the crown when he showed potential to fight during one skirmish in the streets. At some point in his new found life as a newbie adventurer, he has had one too many close calls which led to his meeting with Yeux and his other shard's memory grew clearer since. Given his own regrets with his mother and the other him's mother being Yeux's shard, he wound up feeling the urge to be as close as possible to Yeux whom he eventually learns is the Warrior of Light and Darkness, prompting him to make the switch in becoming a Dark Knight, for it is a Dark Knight who enacts the justice that Paladins lack to enforce against those deserving of it.

Fraoula Korei-Baelsar Daughter
Given Yeux's origin, one of his unions with Gaiux had led to Fraoula's birth during the times they have traversed Worlds.Because of Gaiux and Yeux's constant world hopping, Fraoula's growth was rather abnormal in a sense that makes her... extraordinary. The lifestyle she grew to know also led to her never having attachments or fondness for anything, often seeing other Worlds and lives as just "subjects" for studies.Abel's approach towards Fraoula led to a closeness Fraoula didn't know she could develop other than with her parents, eventually learning to understand why people act or react the way they do. It was why when Hikaru came into their lives, her parents were surprised but happy to know of her growth and development; how she started to find her own path instead of just following or mimicking what her parents do, but more importantly, there is a fondness in their eyes whenever she would show the fox side of hers involving pranking Raiz or incorrectly teaching Hikaru.

Hikaru Mamoru Soul-Son
The offspring of the Primordial Beings, Life and Death. Hikaru was only born due to Gaiux and Yeux allowing both Life and Death to inhabit them as their vessels for a certain time. Essentially, Life surmises that Hikaru is both their son on the account that the mortal vessel is the son of Gaiux and Yeux while the very soul of it is Life and Death's doing. However, as Hikaru was born in the mortal realm, he is unable to visit the "place" where his soul-parents are. The only time Hikaru can only ever meet Death is if he is delivering souls of the dead, acting much like reapers working under Death which mirrors how his mortal-mother is a Reaper. While not having an actual companion the way Death and Yeux have their wolf companions, he is given one of Shadow and Yukina's pups to accompany him in his travels and, in a way, to easily know his location should he need help as Gaiux, Yeux, and Abel have means to use a portal by cutting through space and time with the Tools of Time itself. So long as said tools are not used to change what is to be, Fate will not interfere. While he seems to be empathetic like both mothers, he does inherit the aloof facade that both fathers present to others and only ever shows a slightly warm side to those he is close with. Particularly, to both moms, as well as Fraoula, Bonnie, and Clyde given the way they teach him things and offer snacks.

Death's first encounter of heartbreak was finding puppies that were dying on the streets. Their mother was killed off by the people who thought it to be stealing food. Since she had died, her pups struggled to survive.Death stayed with them--unable to provide physical comfort, but can at least ease their souls as they were scared and confused as to why their mother has not returned. With Death is her soul, waiting for her pups; she was not angry at the humans despite all this, and Death found it admirable that the mother of these pups did not hold a grudge. Death then thought that the world needed more understanding and compassionate beings...Life witnessed how taking the stray and her pups' souls had affected Death, and so Life asked these souls if they would like to help Death with the souls of the mortals. Since then, Death was never without a Shadowhound, and soon, the reapers under Death had their own. There came a point that Death knew there must be someone who understood this in the mortal realm, and so Death had a kin walk amongst them to start a family. In Eorzea, it was a small tribe known as Keepers of the Moon. Death had granted even the males the opportunity to bear their mates children, a reflection of Death's own wish to want to bear Life's children had it been possible.Death then sent some of the Shadowhounds to sire their own in another land with the Mol Tribe having been what caught Death's interest the most. Since then, they have been using hounds to help with herding, a reflection of how the shadowhounds follow and herd souls to help their reapers.Yeux has no idea that his ancestors consisted of such people until now. His father whom he never got the chance to meet was from this same tribe before leaving to fulfill his own path. His mother, whose father was from the Keeper tribe, makes Yeux a descendant.Shadow, his ever loyal companion, happens to be the hound destined as his partner in his endeavors of soul collecting. It seems the day he met Shadow was also the day that he unknowingly accepted his destiny. And why he sees, hears, feels, and reads souls differently..."For no matter what path you choose to get there, you cannot escape who you were meant to be."

Creative takes as a Reaper and servant of Death based on various myths and lores, even fiction, according to his current lore progress...Ferrying souls
- Rather than straight up taking or sending them to the afterlife, he guides souls to it as it has to be their choice if they will move on now or not yet.
- He has the ability to still hold onto souls and safekeep them, and also return them if needed.
Coins as payment
- Rather than coins, payment is the person's redemption of sorts so they can rest in peace.
- For some souls, they can only cross/return when they've repented, or they're stuck in purgatory for eternity with Death checking up on them at times.
Association with Death
- Mainly a Reaper despite his combat skills thanks to multiple shards, it's also due to serving Death because of his capabilities.
- Sometimes, he defies what would have been certain and why Death wants him close. It can be likened as if he is actually Death by being the one to decide whether today is the day one dies or not (i.e. Abel's case, his fight with Mishkal, etc.). And Because Death is a being that actually loves mortals despite what people write him off as, Death finds that Yeux as representative is more comforting to many.
Appearances/Depictions
- No definite appearance; various depictions how death can be terrifying or beautiful or eerie, maybe even a calming if not foreboding presence. Hence, fox and shapeshifting.
- There is almost always a shroud of mystery when it involves Death, much like the truth that is behind the smiles or eyes of Yeux. There is a specific glow about them that none can quite explain.
River Styx & Darkness
- Something about water makes Yeux feel more at his element, stronger even...
- Despite being the bearer of light, he takes the most comfort in the dark.
- One can argue he is simply the light in the dark in the "eyes" of the lost souls.
Remaining Neutral, albeit Chaotic
- Like Death, Yeux does not necessarily answer to anyone and moves to the beat of his own drum.
Ties with the Night
- Yeux finds the night sky far more fascinating and calming much like how the darkness is comforting despite his inherited legacy.
Misunderstood
- Much like how beings of the dark are automatically seen as bad or evil, so is how Yeux is often only seen as certain roles as society sees fits.
- Often labeled based on appearances, he lets it be as it is how he gauges who he can fully trust.
